We are delighted to announce that the Bridge Inn has been shortlisted for the Pub Excellence Award at this year’s CIS Awards – the main industry awards of the year. We are one of three pubs in Scotland up for the award – and the winner will be announced at a gala Black Tie ceremony next week in Glasgow.

The Bridge Inn are taking a team to Glasgow to the awards dinner, and win or lose we are determined to enjoy the evening.

Thank you to all of you who have supported us over the past two years.

—–

OUR STORY: took over the Bridge Inn at the start of 2010. We have a clear vision for what we are trying to achieve: a friendly pub with a warm welcome and delicious food. Wherever possible we use seasonal, Scottish, fresh, local produce, and everything is freshly prepared. We grow our own herbs and vegetables in a walled garden slightly along the canal from the pub. We have a small herd of saddleback pigs, and our menus often feature delicious home-produced pork on the menu. We use locally-shot game when it is in season. We always have a range of cask ales from breweries which we know throughout Scotland. We have had lots of fun selecting our wine list, which we have tried to make one of the best value wine lists in Scotland. And we currently have on a selection of over 20 single malts from around this beautiful country.

We have now finished an ambitious renovation project that has transformed the Bridge Inn. We have created an atmospheric country pub in the 18th century part of the builidng with open fires and comfortable seating. We have altered the upstairs to create 4 beautiful and unique ensuite bedrooms. They each have a different feel, but each has its own view of the canal and surrounding countryside. Finally our bistro alongside the canal has been upgraded and we have added a terrace alongside the building to make the most of our unique setting.

We are situated less than 10 minutes from Edinburgh airport, 7 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, 5 minutes from the M8 and M9 motorways, and a perfect situation to explore central Scotland – Glasgow, Perth and Stirling all being within an hours journey.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ratho soon.

Graham and Rachel
